ahahahhaa
oh god. There's this design job I'm probably going to apply for. i'm positive I can get it too, if I get an interview. But would it be wrong to tell them everything that's wrong with their website at the interview? They're still using TABLES for christ's sake! Gaaah! No no no~! The design is a bit clunky with massive amounts of rollovers that need to go, but otherwise not too bad? But TABLES. And Bad Seo!! Gaah! (and if bad seo makes me twitch, that tells you something because I hate SEO anyway.)

Even if web design isn't the *only* thing you do, NO company should ever ever evaaaaaaar be offering webdesign services using tables. That's just outdated, bad clunky code and baaad for SEO crap. geez! XD

They seriously need a css guru. Like me. (Why yes, pardon my arrogance.) XD

also: finally got the fancy rollover buttons good to go on my portfolio. Yay!

Timing
I'm wondering how long I wait to receive my Lati Doll (from Lati) before I worry?

I ordered by SP Belle on 6/20. It's been just over a month. My user account says "preparing items". I didn't order anything special, just the standard doll.

Thanks for your help!

Shikai shirts! :3
The Shikai shirts, finally. Again, the registration isn't 100% perfect, but they still turned out pretty good. :3 I'll get a shot of me wearing one later.

Bigger Images )

So who wants one of these? :D I've got two out of this set ready to go now, which I'll sell a little cheaper since they were the trial runs. (Though I'm probably going to be redoing the screens for the preorder, assuming there's enough interest.)

These are on Jerzees heavyweight shirts, I've got one medium and one large, $18 + shipping each. You guys get first grabs at these, if no one wants em then I'll toss them on the Schism LJ community or Etsy or something. So just leave a comment if ya do!

Apollo should be here tomorrow. And I need to take pictures of Kito's pretty new dresses. But for now, I make henleys. Yay.

I'm also a bit annoyed because while I've been doing more sketching, none of them have turned out well enough to post. So i'm back to doing 30 second sketches. it is so hard to unlearn your old drawing habits!

Oh yeah, wig swap!
Photos I forgot to post, though they're not that exciting. I swaped Lark and Sky's wigs awhile back just to see how they'd look.

Lark's temp wig fits so much better on Sky's head and his wig actually fits on hers. They're both Volks MSD wigs so it is a mystery.

Did anyone watch the Amazing Race? At the Japanese pitstop, the Japanese greeter was a Takarazuka performer! ;OOO; My mom said she looked like a female Gackt, to which my dad pointed out sounded redundant XD;

A comical stroke of luck
Today was a warm and fuzzy feeling kind of day. I went out to drop off books and mail some items, then decided to go shopping because the sun was out and the day was pretty and not to be wasted cooped inside in front of the PC.

You know how females have this innate ability to be distracted by something material- so much so that they freeze and absolutely must have that item? Doesn't matter whether it's makeup or perfume or clothes or shoes or electronics or collector's items, etc. We'll be riveted until we buy it.

Cut because the item is so obnoxiously obnoxious it'll hurt your eyes )

New 'Duchess' Trailer
How did I manage to miss this!? The Princess Di references have been left out this time, and I have to say what's there instead looks pretty good! So excited for this film...

And is it my imagination, or does Lady Spencer seem an awful lot like the Comtesse de Noailles in Marie-Antoinette? I know the actresses are different, but the portrayal feels similar. I suppose the characters fulfill the same role in the story (although in MA's case she had the Comtesse and her mother breathing down her neck!).

Vintage Ladies, Pt. 4
We had a magnificent thunderstorm last night. Once again I am convinced that my flowers will be flattened by the violence of the rain, but since they bounced back just fine last time I probably shouldn't worry.

Not enough sleep again -- I took some Excedrin PM (for my toothache), was in bed by 10, and STILL woke up at 2am >__< Definitely need to try out that exercise plan...

Anyway -- today's lady, lifted from another LJ (I forget who posted it now, sorry!). I did some minor enhancements to clean it up a bit, since the original was somewhat dark and muddy.

I really, really LIKED this photostory on DoA:  http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=228489

It looks JUST like a music-video!  I love the photos!  I love the colours!  It's definitely one of the BEST I've seen so far.

Bleh

This is all I've drawn the entire week. Well that and some other random work doodles but this is the best. A slightly older Lark. She's about 17 now, so I'm thinking early 20's here.

I'd really like for that wig to come so I could could take some more pictures of her with Sky before he gets sent back. Moving probably backed the fuck up out of my mail though, sigh. :[

Book Reviews
Well, isn't that handy -- Goodreads comes through again! Here are the two most recent books I've finished. More to come as I get around to filling them in...

Looking for Anne of Green Gables: The Life and Times of L. M. Montgomery Looking for Anne of Green Gables: The Life and Times of L. M. Montgomery by Irene Gammel

My review

Rating: 5 of 5 stars

A fascinating study of an author and her much beloved creation. Professor Gammel delves into previously unpublished materials, including private journals and correspondence, to shed new light on L.M. Montgomery's creative process, and the wide variety of influences that culminated in the creation of the character Anne Shirley.

This book is a sympathetic, insightful, and entertaining exploration. Part biography, part literary analysis, I found it a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience. Highly recommended to fans of LMM's writing.

Wolverine/Black Cat: Claws HC (Wolverine) Wolverine/Black Cat: Claws HC by Jimmy Palmiotti

My review

Rating: 5 of 5 stars

A fun light comedy featuring two of my favorite favorite Marvel characters, with art by the incomparable Joseph Michael Linsner. Quick banter, goofy villains, lots of explosions, and even a little romance -- what more could you ask for?

I'm just sorry that this was only a three-part series; I'd love to see these two teamed up again, especially if the same creative team is involved.

*Bonus points to anyone who spots the Dawn cameo!

[EDIT] EEEEEEE! My mother just brought my entire collection of Little House books from her apartment! I haven't read these since I was in grade school. Must reread soon...

'The Duchess' High-Res stills ~
Over at Keira-Central.com. Scroll to the bottom of the gallery to see the latest. Posting this one because I love what the girl in pearls is wearing! Keira's got some raccoon eyes going there...

*

I think this is a prime opportunity to let you know that the third book in Eloisa James' 'Desperate Duchesses' series, Duchess By Night, is every bit as good as the first two! Romance novels or not, they're still a fun read. Fans of Lady G should definitely check these out...

"You are such an interesting sub-species, you know..."
There are some teasers up on the official Highlander merch site of one of the bonus features from the Methos Rocks boxed set (which ships on Friday!); specifically, clips from an interview with Methos. No, not with Peter Wingfield; with Methos, the 5,000-year-old man (suspend your disbelief a little :p). One of them ('Regrets') is absolutely calculated to make the fangirls melt, but I'm posting this one, because the response is so ridiculously typical of the man, and hilarious. Catch the rest over here.
