He's finally ready to make his debut...

Merrik tells me that he was raised in a crumbling victorian mansion in San Francisco by a devout Catholic mother. He escaped the strict conformity expected of him by spending hours reading old ghost stories and faery tales. He followed Nicneven home one night and decided to stay.

He is prone to locking himself in his room for days blasting industrial music, writing poetry and downing glasses of absinthe. He also seems to have a strange obsession with collecting rosaries.

So I am moving to Fresno.

I will be attending a private christian liberal arts college for their accelerated degree program so that I will finish my degree and teaching certifications in a much shorter amount of time. Miss Deviant will be a wolf amongst the sheep. *amused*

I will be leaving the lovely bay area at the end of August after Burning Man.

I will hopefully be back once I am finished in 13-16 months.

I have some very good friends waiting for me in Fresno so I know I'll survive my year in hell.

So much packing and organizing to do...

On the dolly front I've been re-inspired and will be able to join the hobby again soon with the money saved from not living in one of the more expensive places to live. I'll also have time to take pictures again. So pics and stuff will be on the way once I am moved and settled in.

I'm back! My computer is fixed and is now at my house. :)

Thoughts on the dolly front...changes ahead again. Lately since I've been a struggling student on my own I really can't support my dolly habit anymore. I'm thinking a big sale will be coming soon so that I can afford to move into my friend's studio in a month. I am also considering my collection and I feel the need to cut it down. There are too many different dollies to support and I can't afford it. So I think I've decided to keep my two SD sized, two MSD's, my Lati, and three Blythes. So that means I'll be selling two Blythes, a full MSD, and a MSD head. Plus lots of random clothes and accessories.

I'll be thinking this out more, but sales will probably happen in the next few weeks. I need to start building a savings and selling is my only option right now. Plus I think I'll be happier with fewer dolls.

Sorry I am still not updating here very often. My ex still hasn't fixed my computer so I still have very little computer access. *pout* He's supposed to finally get it fixed this week since I need it for school in a couple of weeks. We'll hope he comes through...

Because of the lack of computer access there has also been a lack of dolly picture taking or posting. Again I hope to remedy that soon.

There are changes in the dynamics again as I think Minnaloushe wants to grow up and become a Lati Yellow. I can't resist the draw of the Lati any longer! So she will still be my sweet little princess but she'll have grown up a bit when you next see her.

I'll probably be starting her and all her crocheted outfits on DOA first and then moving her over to eBay if she doesn't get any offers. I may also put her on DOA and her outfits on Lilliputians. I also need to do a closet clean-out sale from all the dollies, but I really need my computer home so that I can monitor everything and post pics.

Anyhoo, not much to report here besides working and wishing I had more computer access. I hope you all are doing well and I will see some of you at the Berkeley Rose Garden BJD meet.

So I'm doing well out on my own, making my own decisions, and going my own way. I feel more fulfilled and content lately than I have in long time. I am returning to my myself as a calmer, wiser self.

Happiness is...

being your own person.

Hard lesson of the day: when one meets a new person and they feel the attraction instantly it's hard to say goodbye before things have had time to happen. Translation: Don't get crushes on nomadic, beautiful street kids, because they are always on the move. He told me when he blows through Berkeley again he'll look me up. Now it's left to chance.

On the dolly front I haven't been able to post much because my ex hasn't finished fixing my computer. I have a new addition to show off and two more not so new but not yet finished additions that will be making their debut soon.

Tomorrow I am heading over to blastmilk's house for a fun dolly geeking day. Yay!

Sorry I haven't been around much, I went through a bad spell of being sick, depressed, stressed, and generally falling apart. I've now emerged strong, calm, busy, yet content. I hope you all have been well. I should have my computer back sometime this week so that I can finally catch up with everyone again. Until then...

So I finally was able to get to the city to pick up my SD10 boy body from Kellyhime. Yay! She also let me visit the Asian Art Museum for free so I spent a few hours admiring the beautifully detailed art there. I think my favorite art pieces were the shadow puppets and the Netsuke. Thank you again Kelly!

And the good news is my IZ head and the SD10 body are an almost perfect match! A tiny bit of blushing and they will look perfect together. I was taking a gamble on the SD10 coloring, but I knew other people had good success with Volks and Kawainino resin matches. I knew he wouldn't match CP at all as he is paler and less peachy. I'm excited to finally be getting him together! I may also try to enhance his current faceup myself. All he really needs is some blushing and his eyebrows redone. Maybe I can convince Kallisti to do a face up tutorial day with me?

In more dolly news I think I'm going to mod Echo's knees so that she can sit like this: http://chocofi.boo.jp/doll/make23.html (scroll down) I just need my boyfriend to help me with the dremel.I think it would allow her to do lots of cuter poses. I may do Nicneven and Silas as well if I am successful with Echo. I'm a tiny bit afraid but I think I can do it.

I'm so very in love with my new computer! I can actually download fansubs onto my own computer! My old computer was sucky and slow and barely had enough space for the programs on it. This is what my current box looks like:

It's been a lovely two days of finishing up my Tokyo Mew Mew collection (I had to finish downloading the original series before it eventually disappears. I finally got a chance to catch the dismal Mew Mew Power on Saturday morning; and I'll never get that 30 minutes of my life back. *emo tear*) I'm also downloading Rozen Maiden Season 1 + most of Season 2, and Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch. Gotta love the girly shows!

I'm back from visiting my family and I have exciting news! First of all my mom decided that she wanted to get me a doll for my upcoming birthday and since SoulDoll is having the UFK sale we ordered a Harang. *grin* My Griffi will be getting a brother and Silas will be getting a guy friend his size! I can't wait until he gets here! I'm a little nervous about stringing a doll together for the first time, but I figure if I get too lost I'll just walk over to Kallisti's and beg her to share her dolly stringing knowledge.

I aslo get my paycheck on Monday (it's late because of some error in the system, *grrr* sorry for the delay Kelly!) and I'll be able finish paying Kelly for the SD10 body for my IZ. *big grin* My big dolly boy will finally be complete! Nicneven will be ever so happy!

And finally on the way home from my parents we stopped by a garage sale and I got the cutest cabinet for my Blythe girls. It will be so cute when I get it set up! I also bought a wee pink bookshelf to make a dollhouse for Minnaloushe. It has two shelves that are perfect room size and a drawer at the top for all her little crocheted clothes! It's super cute! And both pieces were super cheap!

So much happy dolly news! So my doll family is near completion! First off, my Griffi is at the Blastmilk spa getting her face-up enhanced and her body blushed, (thank you again Kallisti!) and I know she will be even more lovely when she comes home! Next up my Nari-Pon should be arriving within the next two weeks and I've been buying/commissioning crocheted clothes for her for awhile now. She will have no lack of things to wear that's for sure! And now for the best news...

I just bought a SD10 body from Kellyhime for my IZ head! So my boy will finally be complete soon! I just have to get him a face-up and he's ready to go. *so excited*
